Commercial Manager (Batam)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Commercial Manager to join our team involved in our vessel Construction. The Contracts personnel will report to the Contracts Division and be involved in the overseeing of the shipbuilding contracts throughout the vessel construction and deployment. This role requires strong attention to detail, contract negotiation skills, and an understanding of shipbuilding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and manage contracts related to shipbuilding projects, including construction, procurement, and supply agreements.
• Work closely with project managers, legal teams, and stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Discussion with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor and manage contract performance, including risk identification, mitigation, and ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
• Provide guidance and advice on contractual matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with legal counsel to resolve any contractual disputes or claims.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence.
• Prepare reports on contract status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
• In-depth knowledge of shipbuilding contracts, procurement processes, and the legal framework surrounding construction and engineering contracts.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve contract-related issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with Shipbuilding contracts.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
