ICA Engineer

Hiring experienced ICA Engineer to support the design, coordination, installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation, control and automation systems for M&E projects.
This project-based role will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal engineering teams to deliver reliable and compliant ICA systems. The position is based on-site on a 5.5-day work week.
Responsibilities
- Review ICA design specifications, drawings, control philosophies, instrument schedules and technical submissions.
- Coordinate ICA interfaces with mechanical, electrical, process, civil and other project disciplines.
- Support the design and implementation of PLC, SCADA, HMI, telemetry and process-control systems.
- Review instrument selection, datasheets, control panels, system architecture and communication networks.
- Prepare method statements, technical submissions, material submissions and shop drawings.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on equipment delivery, installation and integration.
- Supervise installation of instruments, control panels, cabling and associated field devices.
- Conduct or witness factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, loop checks and functional tests.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, control logic, communication and system-integration issues.
- Support testing, commissioning, performance verification and client handover.
- Maintain test records, as-built drawings, operation manuals and commissioning documentation.
- Ensure works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, safety requirements and applicable standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Control, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant ICA, process automation or control-system experience, preferably with an M&E contractor.
- Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, industrial or process-related projects is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, field instrumentation and industrial communication protocols.
- Able to interpret P&IDs, control schematics, instrument loop diagrams and system architecture drawings.
- Practical experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and system integration.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant engineering or configuration software is advantageous.
- Strong coordination, documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
