Workplace Safety & Health Officer (civil)

Our client is a well regarded Tier 1 Civil Main Contractor who are known for large infrastructure like expressways, viaducts, linkways to name a few. They have just been awarded a number of new projects in Singapore and are seeking a WSHO to lead.

Role Responsibilities

• Overall site management for safety, security, health and environment of Singapore project.
• Develop detail site HSE execution plan, define site HSE management procedures and measures. Supervise the effective implementation of safety regulations.
• Take part in the qualification audit of subcontractors and their members.
• Responsible for delivering proper HSE education for the project staff.
• Responsible for organizing site HSE meetings.
• Responsible for organizing periodic HSE inspection and behavior observation. Making records of the non-compliance. Communicating the HSE expectations with project members. Following up the rectification.
• Work with construction engineers to develop a safety work method statement for each certain job of high danger and follow up with the disclosure.
• Deal with authority officer for inspection or other activities.
• Coordination with owners, general contractor, subcontractors, material suppliers, etc. to ensure HSE compliance.
• Periodically collect HSE records and reports, monitor the key performance indicators, make specific actions to improve.
• Organize accident investigation, develop detailed accident report and take targeted rectification actions.
• Other works arranged by the project manager.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above, relate to safety, environment, construction, mechanic, etc.
• With at least 7 years of experience in construction site management, at least 5 years in pharmaceutical/ chemical/ food industry, project execution experience in Singapore a MUST.
• Familiar with safety management skill, excellent communication skills and high efficiency of execution.
• Familiar with local laws and regulations on safety, health, security and environment.
• Familiar with BizSAFE, ISO management system, WSHMS, GGBS.
