We are hiring and the details of the position are:

Job title: SQL DBA (Perm role, up to 10k, Microsoft SQL Server 2012+, Active Directory, DB2 SQL/400 knowledge)

This position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and engineering of the RDBMS environment, primarily using Microsoft SQL Server.

The candidate serves as a technical advisor to the development team, overseeing the tracking, troubleshooting, and resolution of SQL-related issues while ensuring timely communication of status updates to relevant stakeholders.

The role is also responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of the SQL replication environment, developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures, and establishing effective methods to ensure system reliability.

In addition, the candidate works closely with the development team to provide technical guidance and consultation on a wide range of database-related issues and delivers ongoing support as required.

Job responsibilities:

1. Database Architecture & Engineering:

• Design, plan, and engineer Microsoft SQL Server environment
• Implement and maintain SQL replication models for data accuracy
• Develop stored procedures, triggers, views, and other SQL objects
• Perform code reviews for all SQL changes

2. Performance& Optimization:

• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and configuration
• Design and test SQL Server business continuity plans
• Establish connectivity and access standards for SQL environments

3. Standards &Documentation:

• Create installation/software implementation standards for SQL systems
• Develop preventative maintenance procedures and methods
• Document database architectures and troubleshooting guides

4. Collaboration& Support:

• Act as technical advisor to development teams
• Resolve SQL-related problems and communicate status updates
• Consult on development projects requiring database expertise

Technical Expertise requirement:

• 5+ years as Microsoft SQL Database Administrator
• Experience in designing/implementing complex SQL projects
• Microsoft SQL Server (2012+ including Availability Groups)
• Transact-SQL programming (stored procedures, triggers, views)
• Replication, linked servers, and backup strategies
• ODBC/MDAC connectivity
• Windows Active Directory/SQL security integration experience
• Knowledge and experience in DB2 SQL/400 are preferred
