Electrical BIM Modeller – Data Center

(Job Description)

An Electrical Modeller with data center experience is responsible for creating accurate 3D electrical models and drawings for data center infrastructure using BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks. The role involves modeling cable trays, conduits, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transformers, and power distribution systems according to engineering designs and project standards.

Key responsibilities

include developing detailed electrical layouts, coordinating with MEP disciplines, performing clash detection, updating models based on design changes, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and data center requirements. The modeller supports engineers and project teams by producing shop drawings, as-built models, and documentation for construction and installation.

⚡ Typical requirements:

• Experience with BIM/Revit electrical modeling

• Knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure (UPS, PDU, busway, grounding, cable management)

• Ability to coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams

• Understanding of construction drawings and BIM standards
