  • Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using ECS and Docker.
  • Utilize CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to ensure system health, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize the software development lifecycle from coding to deployment and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test, and production environments.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices for our cloud infrastructure.

Core Skills Required

AWS (at least junior level):

  • VPC: Solid understanding of creating and configuring Virtual Private Clouds, subnets, route tables, and internet gateways.

  • EC2: Experience with launching, managing, and monitoring virtual servers.
  • EBS: Understanding of block storage volumes and snapshot management.
  • CloudWatch: Ability to set up monitoring, create alarms, and analyze logs.
  • RDS: Knowledge of setting up, operating, and scaling relational databases.

(Other AWS services can be learned along the way)

  • Scripting: Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Version Control: Proficient with Git and Git-based workflows.

Networking:

  • Security Groups: Proficiency in creating and managing security group rules to control inbound and outbound traffic.
  • DNS: Knowledge of DNS principles and experience with DNS management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
