Job Overview
Working together with the relevant departments to create a safe, healthy and pleasant working environment for all employees. Develop, implement and drive process and continuous improvement strategies for the production sector to achieve better performance, higher quality, lower cost and accurate production data/reporting.

Principal Accountabilities

Safety

  • To ensure production co-workers are operating in accordance with safety requirements at all times.
  • To ensure co-workers are trained before commencement of their required job function.
  • Contribute to and execute safety-related projects, including 6S.

Operational Strategy

  • To lead production processes in order to achieve continuous improvement in efficiency, quality and cost.
  • Providing organizational analysis, interpretation and evaluation of results for operational issues and propose effective solutions to them.
  • Contribute to and execute assigned continuous improvement initiatives, such as data collection, analysis, proposal, trial, and report writing.

Daily Operational

  • Continuous improvement – ensuring continuous improvement in production operation to seek perfection, including lean operation and cost reduction.
  • Design, test and implement new or modified processes, equipment and tooling to improve efficiency, quality and yield.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns, process deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate Product Quality and Yield improvement.
  • Coordinate and ensure consistent, accurate entry of required Production data into the ERP system.
  • Assist superior & manager in generating KPI/MIP or performance dashboards.
  • Coordinate and ensure Production Record Retention meets applicable Quality standards.
  • Coordinate required follow-up of CA/PA investigation and improvement-related resolution.
  • Coordinate required current/new equipment qualification, process validation & Safety Risk Assessment.
  • Coordinate Production Troubleshoot Resolution, serving as SME (Subject Matter Expert).
  • Coordinate Production Work Instruction/BOM & SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) development.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with plant's GMP (i.e. gowning, hygiene & cleanliness).
  • Work with Production teams and HR on ergonomics, shift pattern modifications and overtime optimization.
  • Coordinate optimization of Production consumables supply and follow up on Supplier Quality Issues to prevent supply disruption.
  • Ensure availability of production consumables and maintain proper documentation of orders and deliveries (e.g. PR, DO received).
  • Coordinate optimization of manpower cross-training and skills upgrading.
  • Support section head particularly on recruitment, promotion and evaluations.
  • Work closely with the R&D team on trial runs.
  • Manage any deviation within the production process.
  • Other projects as assigned by Operations Leadership.

Training and Development

  • Responsible for the training and guidance in professional development for the department and ensure that co-workers possess sufficient job capacity (e.g. 6S, Kaizen, process improvement).

Qualifications/Requirements
Knowledge and Experience

  • Min 3 years of experiences in manufacturing, production/process engineering, or technical management.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Certifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field) preferred.

Job Specific skills and abilities

  • Familiar with production site management and process/equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with the flexible packaging industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in relevant IT/production software (ERP system, spreadsheets, QAD, WMS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Good self-motivation, excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Good team coordination and leadership.
  • Good judgment, execution and the driving force for the team.
  • Good communication skills in English; Mandarin/Chinese is a plus.
