Foreman – Marine Engine Overhaul (4-Stroke Harbour Craft Engines)

We are seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee engine overhaul and workshop activities for 4-stroke marine engines used on harbor craft and workboats. The successful candidate will lead a team of fitters and welders, ensuring overhaul, repair, and maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Candidates with experience in marine engines, diesel engines, heavy vehicles, trucks, buses, or industrial engines are encouraged to apply, as the skills are highly transferable.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily workshop activities involving the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of 4-stroke marine diesel engines for harbor craft.
Lead and coordinate a team of fitters, welders, and technicians to ensure work is completed according to project schedules and quality standards.
Plan and assign work based on engine overhaul schedules and workshop priorities.
Inspect completed work and ensure repairs meet technical specifications and company quality requirements.
Coordinate engine dismantling, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing activities.
Work closely with Service Engineers and Workshop Managers to resolve technical issues and support vessel service requirements.
Monitor workshop productivity, manpower utilization, and job progress.
Ensure tools, equipment, and workshop facilities are maintained in good working condition.
Enforce workplace health, safety, and housekeeping standards within the workshop.
Prepare job progress updates and report any technical or operational issues to management.
Requirements
Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in diesel engine overhaul, workshop supervision, or maintenance of marine or heavy-duty engines.
Experience supervising fitters, welders, or workshop technicians is required.
Hands-on experience with 4-stroke diesel engines used in harbor craft, workboats, generators, trucks, buses, or heavy equipment is preferred.
Good understanding of engine overhaul procedures, fault diagnosis, and mechanical repair.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and service documentation.
Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
Safety-conscious with good problem-solving and organizational abilities.
Willing to work in the West of Singapore and support workshop and site-based activities when required.
