Responsibilities
- Oversee the department’s operational effectiveness, performance, and reporting.
- Ensure best value is achieved across all aspects of Quantity Surveying and commercial management.
- Manage pricing, contracts, and contract negotiations to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
- Prepare and review accurate, reliable, and robust cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain cost certainty and provide effective cost forecasting and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, commercial policies, and relevant procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective and transparent tendering and procurement procedures.
- Oversee project administration and provide commercial support throughout project delivery.
- Implement effective cost control measures to monitor and manage project expenditure.
- Manage and oversee the final accounts process, ensuring timely and accurate settlement.
- Provide commercial and Quantity Surveying support to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Ensure all commercial activities are aligned with project objectives, budgets, timelines, and overall business requirements.
Job Requirements
- Strong knowledge and understanding of various forms of contracts, contract law, and standard forms of contract.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in cost planning, cost budgeting, cost estimation, and value engineering.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in all aspects of work.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates strong initiative, drive, and a proactive approach to achieving results.
- Meticulous and able to exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Strong team leadership and team collaboration skills, with the ability to lead by example and work effectively in a hands-on, multi-tasking environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant work experience in Singapore and/or the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) market.
