About this job

We are seeking a high-calibre Product Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle and commercial viability of our construction machinery portfolio. Based in our Singapore regional hub, you will serve as the critical operational and commercial bridge between our manufacturing and engineering operations in China and our global distribution network.

You will be accountable for translating complex, highly customized client requirements into manufacturable specifications, driving strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost negotiations, governing global pricing models, and ensuring flawless execution from factory floor to global site delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Lifecycle & Commercial Strategy

  • Lead the standardisation, customisation, and configuration permutations for heavy machinery lines, ensuring alignment with diverse regional operational profiles, site conditions, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Conduct rigorous competitor analysis, benchmarking, and market studies across global markets to direct product development roadmaps and feature prioritisation.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit global pricing models, incorporating comprehensive landed-cost analyses, target margin structures, freight fluctuations, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculations for key account tenders.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to produce accurate, high-calibre technical collateral, including:
  • Specification sheets
  • Performance comparison matrices
  • Configuration guidelines
  • Technical training manuals
These materials should be tailored for the global distribution network.

2. Supply Chain & Order Orchestration

  • Identify, audit, and qualify manufacturing partners and component suppliers in China, vetting them against:
  • Technical capability
  • Financial stability
  • Production capacity
  • Ethical compliance standards
  • Lead negotiations for component pricing, volume rebates, payment terms, strict lead-time SLAs, and warranty indemnities to minimise landed costs and protect company margins.
  • Oversee the end-to-end order lifecycle, starting from technical validation of build sheets against signed sales contracts, through to purchase order (PO) issuance and milestone tracking.
  • Establish, track, and review supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); implement and enforce corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs) for any delivery or quality slips.
  • Manage the administration of supply contracts, ensuring strict compliance with:
  • International trade laws
  • Export-import controls
  • Customs documentation
  • Correct application of Inco terms

  • Act as the primary liaison between global sales teams, overseas clients, and China-based engineering/production plants to proactively isolate bottlenecks, manage manufacturing change orders, and guarantee on-time fulfilment.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Technical Compliance: Ensure all machine configurations, attachments, and power systems strictly adhere to international safety standards (e.g., CE, ISO, OSHA, or regional equivalents) and country-specific import certifications.
  • Quality Oversight: Design and coordinate rigorous Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI), and third-party verification protocols to ensure uncompromising adherence to quality benchmarks prior to final release and transit.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, or supply chain roles within the heavy machinery or capital equipment industry.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract administration, and cost-reduction initiatives within cross-border manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to interpret:
  • Engineering drawings
  • Technical specifications
  • Hydraulic schematics
  • Electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in ERP systems for order management and data analytics tools for pricing and forecasting.
  • Language: Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential for daily communication with China-based manufacturing counterparts.
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to navigate cross-cultural business environments and manage stakeholder expectations across different time zones.
