About this job

A Singapore-based principal investment office is seeking a resourceful, sharp-minded Chief of Staff to work in lockstep with its Director on research, deal-related enquiries, and a broad spread of day-to-day priorities. This is a trusted, close-quarters role suited to someone who is discreet, self-driven, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Working alongside the Director, the Chief of Staff becomes a dependable second pair of hands - running down information, coordinating with outside parties, and carrying projects through from start to finish without needing to be chased.

  • Dig into a wide range of topics through rigorous research, and turn findings into clear, well-organised write-ups
  • Liaise directly with external specialists and contacts, representing the Director professionally at all times
  • Drive assigned initiatives from start to finish, staying ahead of what's needed rather than waiting to be asked
  • Provide the Director with regular in-person updates on progress across ongoing workstreams
  • Coordinate scheduling and correspondence across several time zones
  • Arrange logistics for overseas trips and travel as the work requires
  • Exercise sound judgement and full discretion when dealing with confidential information

The ideal candidate picks things up quickly, thinks clearly under ambiguity, and has a genuine flair for tracking down and verifying information from varied sources - any degree discipline from a recognised university is fine. English should be excellent, both written and spoken, and you should be conversationally fluent in Chinese, since the role regularly involves speaking with Chinese-speaking contacts (written Chinese is not needed).

Comfort working with AI tools and AI agents in daily workflows is expected. You'll need to be organised, meticulous, and able to juggle competing priorities without close supervision, paired with unquestionable integrity and a willingness to formalise confidentiality commitments in writing.

The role is based in Singapore with frequent face-to-face check-ins, and requires readiness to travel abroad on short notice - sometimes for a month or more - including to destinations such as the US.

Spanish and/or Portuguese language ability would be a distinct advantage given the international spread of contacts.
