Laboratory Trainer

Primary responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and conduct training for all staff in the Lab. Work with section heads to identify training needs and is also responsible for retraining program within the section.

Specific responsibilities:

• Conduct training for all new staff recruited in OGC lab
• Identify newer methodologies of training to make it more effective.
• Work closely with the QA team /Operations in identifying changes to external/internal standards and ensure that all staff are made aware of these changes.
• Analyze and identify training needs within department
• Conduct retraining as and when required to appropriate laboratory personnel.
• Perform a one time off analysis when it is required.
• Maintain and update all training records.
• Assist in clients/SINGLAS/other Audits
• Trouble shooting / rectification of testing issue /problems
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemistry / Engineering or related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in laboratory application / engineering related application
• Able to coordinate and motivate a team member towards a common goal
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Able to interact with all levels of management, affiliates, suppliers and clients
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls
• Works well under pressure, challenges status quo
• Fluent English and local language
• Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
• Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures
