Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Design Delivery: Lead architectural development across all project phases, including initial feasibility, schematic design, detailed documentation, and site execution.
Data Center Architecture: Formulate modular, scalable architectural concepts tailored to high-density data halls, optimizing equipment layouts, logistics flow, and facility reliability.
Consultant Management: Select, direct, and evaluate external architectural firms to ensure design quality, timeline adherence, and alignment with project goals.
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate directly with Civil & Structural, MEP, and site development teams to create fully integrated design packages.
Regulatory Approvals: Lead discussions with local planning bodies and regulatory authorities throughout Southeast Asia to secure necessary permits and approvals on schedule.
Technical Quality Control: Review design submissions, detailed construction drawings, and specifications for strict compliance with local building codes, international standards, and internal guidelines.
Procurement & Tender Support: Prepare technical bid documentation, participate in vendor evaluations, and clarify architectural requirements during the contractor selection process.
Site & Construction Oversight: Review contractor shop drawings, resolve on-site technical challenges, and ensure field construction aligns precisely with the design intent.
Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize space, reduce construction costs, and improve building efficiency without compromising performance or delivery timelines.
Requirements
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture or a related design field.
Regional Experience: 5+ years of architectural management experience in Southeast Asia (such as Malaysia or Indonesia), with a track record of delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, or major industrial projects.
Client-Side Background: Prior experience working within a developer, owner-side project management team, or design consultancy is strongly preferred.
Regulatory & Code Knowledge: Thorough understanding of regional building codes across Southeast Asia, alongside familiarity with US and UK international design standards.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of building systems, structural detailing, material selection, and fast-track construction practices typical of modern data center builds.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated success directing external consultant teams, managing contractor submittals, and resolving complex technical issues under tight schedules.
