Part time Safety Coordinator

Job Description & Requirements

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team . The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Program Development: Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols to Telcom , Construction and Renewable Energy installation and maintenance activities.
• Compliance: Ensure work sites are compliance with MOM’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and Code of Practices (CPs), including OSHA standards and industry best practices.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to identify potential hazards and implement risk control measures.
• Training: Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel to promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate work site accidents, injuries, dangerous occurrences and near misses; perform root causes analysis and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Safety Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess safety performance, identify hazards, and ensure adherence to safety standards of subcontractors and site personnel.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and procedures including evacuation plans and first aid protocols.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
• Promotion of Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture through communication, training, and recognition programs.
• Collaboration with Different Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.

Qualification:

• Possess minimum WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health and/or Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
• Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role in the construction or renewable energy industry.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to solar PV installations.
• Professional certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety, First Aid/CPR, and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective safety solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office and experience with safety management systems/software.
