Facilities Maintenance Officer

Job Summary

Lead the daily operation, maintenance, and upkeep of mosque facilities by managing maintenance teams and contractors. Conduct inspections, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and collaborate on budgeting to ensure efficient facility management.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and ensure the upkeep of mosque facilities daily to support smooth operations
• Conduct periodic inspections and perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to contract agreements and schedules
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical system issues to minimize downtime and maintain safety
• Liaise with, supervise, and manage contractors and sub-contractors on repair and maintenance tasks, including handling payment matters
• Respond promptly to enquiries, complaints, and service requests related to mosque facilities and equipment to maintain user satisfaction
• Manage and lead a team of Maintenance Support Officers to achieve maintenance objectives efficiently
• Collaborate with the Head of Department to prepare, review, and propose the annual budget and monitor expenditures for facility maintenance

Required competencies and certifications

• NITEC or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical/Building Services/Facility Management or equivalent)
• At least one year of experience in building maintenance and facilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suites

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Good knowledge of building, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Certificate in Infocomm Technology (IT)
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player
