Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee workplace safety and health matters across project sites, ensuring compliance with applicable WSH legislation, regulations, and company requiremenT
  • Develop, implement, and monitor site safety programmes, procedures, risk controls, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and safety observations, and follow up on identified findings and corrective actions.
  • Advise project management, supervisors, and workers on WSH requirements and provide practical recommendations to minimise workplace risks.
  • Monitor compliance with approved Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, Method Statements, Permit-to-Work systems, and other relevant safety documentation.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, inductions, training, and other WSH awareness programmes.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, including identifying root causes and recommending preventive and corrective measures.
  • Work closely with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, clients, and relevant authorities on safety-related matters.
  • Monitor contractors' and subcontractors' compliance with site safety requirements and ensure appropriate follow-up on non-compliances.
  • Maintain and manage WSH records, inspection reports, incident reports, training records, statistics, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor workplace safety performance and prepare regular WSH reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response arrangements to ensure effective management of workplace emergencies.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and encourage continuous improvement in workplace safety and health standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in workplace safety and health, preferably within the construction, railway, infrastructure, or engineering industry.
  • Possess a Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Registered as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the relevant Singapore authority.
  • Possess a valid WSHO registration/certification and meet applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and safety requirements.
  • Experience in conducting Risk Assessments, safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and safety training.
  • Experience managing WSH matters involving contractors and subcontractors will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and effectively with project teams at all levels.
  • Candidates with railway, LTA, civil engineering, or infrastructure project experience will have an added advantage.
