Principal/Associate Partner - Strategy

The Opportunity

Our client, a boutique consulting firm based in Singapore, is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant with a strong background across Consumer Goods, Healthcare, and Private Equity to join their senior team. This is an opportunity to take on a leadership role within a lean, high-performing firm — with direct client exposure, ownership over engagement delivery, and a real hand in shaping the firm's growth trajectory.

About the Role

The Principal Consultant will lead client engagements end-to-end, from scoping and proposal development through to delivery and stakeholder management, with a particular focus on Consumer Goods and Healthcare clients, as well as Private Equity-backed portfolio companies and PE firms seeking commercial due diligence or value creation support. Beyond project execution, this role carries responsibility for team leadership, business development, and contributing to the firm's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage consulting engagements across Consumer Goods, Healthcare, and Private Equity-related mandates, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction
• Support PE clients on commercial due diligence, market assessments, and portfolio value creation initiatives
• Serve as the primary client relationship owner for key accounts, managing senior stakeholder expectations throughout engagements
• Develop proposals, scope engagements, and structure project approaches and deliverables tailored to sector-specific client needs
• Mentor and manage junior and mid-level consultants, overseeing their development and work quality
• Contribute to business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities within the Consumer Goods, Healthcare, and PE ecosystems, pitching, and expanding relationships with existing clients
• Provide input into the firm's strategic priorities, service offerings, and internal capability-building
• Represent the firm externally at industry events, client forums, and networking opportunities

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of consulting experience, with substantial exposure to Consumer Goods and/or Healthcare sectors
• Private Equity experience strongly preferred — either through PE-facing consulting work (commercial due diligence, portfolio value creation) or a stint in-house at a PE fund or portfolio company
• Prior experience at a top-tier or reputable boutique consulting firm strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships at senior/C-suite level
• Strong business development instincts, with experience generating or expanding client revenue
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing and developing junior team members
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus
• Based in or willing to relocate to Singapore; regional travel may be required
