Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager, Consolidation to join its Group Finance team. The role will be responsible for overseeing the Group's consolidation and financial reporting activities, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
This is a hands-on role covering group consolidation, financial reporting, management reporting, listed-company reporting, audit and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will work closely with subsidiaries, senior finance stakeholders, auditors and other corporate functions to drive a robust and efficient group reporting process.
Key Responsibilities
Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting
- Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual Group consolidation and reporting process, including consolidation schedules, reporting packs and closing deliverables.
- Review consolidation adjustments, elimination entries, intercompany balances and transactions, investments in subsidiaries, dividends, loans and foreign operations-related adjustments.
- Review financial statement schedules and key financial movements, accounting judgements, disclosures and variance explanations.
- Ensure consolidated financial information is accurate, complete, well-supported and delivered within Group reporting timelines.
- Support the implementation of new and revised accounting standards and assess their impact on Group consolidation and financial reporting.
Listed-Company & Corporate Reporting
- Support the preparation and review of annual reports, SGX-related finance deliverables and other corporate reporting requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate finance inputs for Audit Committee and Board papers, Annual General Meeting materials, analyst briefings and other senior management or investor-related reporting.
- Provide accounting analysis, supporting schedules and variance explanations for corporate and governance reporting.
Subsidiary & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with subsidiaries and corporate functions to ensure timely submission of reporting packs, consolidation schedules and supporting information.
- Review subsidiary submissions and resolve reporting differences, intercompany mismatches, reconciling items and consolidation queries.
- Provide guidance to subsidiaries on Group reporting requirements, accounting treatments, reporting templates and documentation standards.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and other stakeholders on financial reporting, statutory and audit matters.
Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review Group management reporting, budget-to-actual analysis and forecast updates.
- Analyse Group results, segment performance, corporate costs, finance costs, dividends and intercompany charges.
- Identify significant variances, unusual items and reporting risks, providing clear insights and recommendations to management.
Audit, Controls & Process Improvement
- Coordinate audit schedules, consolidation workpapers, statutory reporting schedules and tax information packs.
- Ensure audit queries are addressed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Strengthen consolidation controls, close discipline, documentation standards and audit readiness.
- Drive improvements to consolidation templates, reporting packs, intercompany trackers, reconciliation workpapers and close processes.
- Support and guide team members involved in Group reporting and recurring consolidation activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
- At lease 7 years of relevant experience in Group Finance, consolidation, financial reporting, statutory reporting, management reporting or audit.
- Strong hands-on experience in Group consolidation, intercompany reconciliation, elimination entries and financial statement reporting.
- Good understanding of consolidation principles, including subsidiaries, non-controlling interests, associates/joint ventures, foreign operations, dividends and intercompany transactions.
- Experience working with multiple entities and/or jurisdictions would be advantageous.
- Exposure to listed-company reporting, SGX requirements, annual reports and Board/Audit Committee reporting is highly preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with subsidiaries, auditors, tax agents and senior finance stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle Fusion, ERP or consolidation/reporting systems would be advantageous.
- A proactive and hands-on individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced Group Finance environment.
