Trainee Preschool Educator (Chinese Language) – Sponsored L2 Pathway

Alpha Green Preschool is looking for a Mandarin-proficient educator to join our team as a full-time Trainee Preschool Educator while undertaking an employer-sponsored ECDA-recognised Chinese-language L2 qualification.

This position may be particularly suitable for an experienced Chinese enrichment teacher, tuition teacher, student-care educator, teaching assistant, overseas kindergarten educator or career switcher who enjoys working with young children but does not yet hold an ECDA-recognised preschool teaching qualification.

The successful candidate will receive paid employment during training, structured workplace guidance and a longer-term development pathway within the School’s Chinese-language programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the care, learning and development of children aged 18 months to 6 years.

• Assist in planning and conducting age-appropriate Mandarin learning experiences through play, stories, music, movement, conversation and hands-on activities.

• Work with the School Principal and teaching team to develop Chinese-language lessons, resources and curriculum activities.

• Support classroom routines, children’s wellbeing, safety and positive behaviour.

• Observe and document children’s learning and development.

• Communicate professionally with parents regarding their children, under the School’s communication protocols.

• Participate actively in the required early childhood qualification programme and complete all coursework, practicum and assessment requirements.

• Contribute ideas towards strengthening Alpha Green Preschool’s Chinese-language programme.

• Subject to successful certification and demonstrated performance, take on progressively greater responsibility for Chinese curriculum planning and coordination.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin, as the role involves delivering Chinese-language learning experiences.

• Able to communicate effectively in English with colleagues and parents.

• Warm, patient and confident when working with young children.

• Relevant experience teaching or working with children is strongly preferred. Experience may come from preschools, kindergartens, enrichment centres, tuition centres, student-care settings or overseas educational institutions.

• Interested in developing a long-term career in early childhood education.

• Does not currently hold an ECDA-recognised EY1, EY2, L1 or L2 early childhood certification for this trainee pathway.

• Able to meet the admission requirements of an ECDA-recognised Chinese-language L2 qualification offered by a local training institution.

• Willing to undertake the sponsored training programme while working full-time.

• Willing to enter into the applicable training sponsorship and service-bond arrangement.

• Candidates with curriculum-planning, classroom-management or team-coordination experience will have an advantage.

What We Offer

• Monthly salary of S$2,600 to S$2,800, depending on relevant experience and suitability.
