Senior Commercial Officer

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage pre and post tender activities including quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
2. Prepare and review contracts, variation orders, progress claims, and final accounts.
3. Source, negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
4. Monitor and control project budgets, implementing cost-saving and value engineering measures.
5. Conduct site surveys and participate in measurements and valuations with clients and subcontractors.
6. Coordinate with sales, design and project teams on all contractual and M&E matters.
7. Analyze tender returns for cost competitiveness and contractual compliance.
8. Support project teams with technical proposals, progress tracking, and resolution of contractual issues.
9. Lead, mentor, and manage the commercial team, providing strategic direction, performance oversight, and ensuring best commercial practices are consistently applied across all projects.

Job Requirements

1. Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

2. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in commercial construction projects.

3. Proficient in tools for quantity take-off and technical drawings.

4. Familiar with contract administration, project budgeting, and cost control practices.

5. Excellent numerical and financial analysis skills; strong attention to detail.

6. Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively in a team.

7. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

8. Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
