Sous Chef - Local / Chinese Cuisine

Job Description & Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Plan, direct, and supervise local/chinese food preparation and cooking activities.
• Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of catering services.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient operations and adherence to SOPs - SFA, Halal and Work Safety.
• Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
• Mentor, train and encourage staff by providing continuous performance feedback and identifying a talent pipeline.

Job Requirements:

• Five years experience or more in local/chinese cooking and managing a culinary team in a catering operation.
• Equipped with excellent sense of taste and creativity in food presentation.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Required to work on weekend and public holidays.
• Required to start work early in the morning.
• Staying East Preferred (Bedok).
