Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor cum Admin Assistant to join our growing team. This hybrid role is perfect for a QS-trained professional who wants to develop their core quantity surveying skills while supporting our daily office and project operations. You will split your time between project estimation/costing tasks and general administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in quantity surveying tasks to monitor project costs and ensure cost control
- Support daily site and office operations by managing administrative and procurement tasks efficiently
- Coordinate with project teams to gather necessary data for cost analysis and reporting
- Maintain organized records of project documentation and correspondence
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution
Quantity Surveying Duties
- Taking Off: Measure and quantify materials from architectural and structural drawings.
- Tender Support: Assist in preparing tender submissions, cost estimations, and quotation extractions.
- Progress Claims: Help prepare progress claim and verify subcontractor progress claims
- Document Control: Maintain organized files for project drawings, contracts, and variation orders.
- Sourcing: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive material quotes.
Administrative Duties
- Office Administration: Manage daily office operations, including handling paperwork, sorting emails etc.
- Data Entry: Update and maintain precise internal project cost tracking sheets and databases.
- Meeting Support: Schedule internal or external meetings and record clear minutes when required.
- Coordination: Serve as a communication bridge between site teams, project managers, and the finance department.
Job Requirements
- Education: Candidate must possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related construction field.
- Background: Prior training or educational background in Quantity Surveying is highly preferred.
- Experience: Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and basic knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Attributes: Strong numerical sense, highly organized, and capable of multitasking effectively.
Language
: Good written and spoken English.
