About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Assistant Accounts Manager to support the finance and accounting functions across our growing F&B business.
The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, month-end closing, financial reporting, cash flow monitoring and management of accounts payable and receivable. You will work closely with the management team and outlet operations to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently, takes ownership of their work and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Handle daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payments and collections.
- Perform bank, credit card and payment platform reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain schedules for expenses, prepayments, accruals and other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of revenue, expenses and other financial transactions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
F&B / Outlet Accounting
- Reconcile daily sales from POS systems against cash, credit cards, delivery platforms and other payment channels.
- Monitor outlet cash collections and investigate discrepancies.
- Track food and beverage costs, inventory movements and wastage.
- Assist in analysing food costs, labour costs and outlet profitability.
- Work closely with outlet managers to resolve accounting and cash-handling discrepancies.
- Review supplier invoices and ensure proper matching against purchase orders and delivery records.
- Maintain accurate records for multiple outlets and business entities.
Compliance & Audit
- Assist with GST reporting and ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents and other professional advisors.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documents for audits and statutory requirements.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of accounting records.
- Keep up to date with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
Management Support
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for management review.
- Provide insights into sales, costs, margins and outlet performance.
- Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies and potential cost savings.
- Assist management with ad-hoc financial analysis and business projects.
- Support the Accounts Manager / Finance Manager in improving accounting processes and internal controls.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in the F&B, retail, hospitality or multi-outlet environment is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Singapore accounting and GST requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with accounting software.
- Experience with POS and payment reconciliation is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple entities and deadlines independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with both finance and operations teams.
- Responsible, organised and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
