Are you an experienced retail professional looking for an opportunity to share your industry knowledge and experience with the next generation?
Join us as a Teacher, Retail Services and turn your hands-on experience in retail operations, customer service, sales, merchandising or e-commerce into meaningful learning experiences for our students.
We welcome experienced retail practitioners from the industry who are passionate about developing young people and are keen to make a meaningful career transition into education. Teaching or training experience is an advantage but not essential.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and committed individual to teach Retail Services and equip students with practical, industry-relevant skills. You will draw on your real-world retail experience to design engaging lessons, conduct hands-on demonstrations and create a supportive, career-focused learning environment.
You will also mentor students, guide them in exploring career pathways and work with parents and community partners to support their development and learning outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons and hands-on demonstrations in Retail Services
- Share real-world retail knowledge, practices and industry experiences with students
- Create effective instructional materials to support student learning
- Mentor students and model positive professional behaviour
- Build an industry-relevant and supportive learning environment
- Guide students in exploring retail and service-sector career pathways
- Collaborate with parents and community partners to enhance students' learning outcomes
Personal Competencies, Qualifications and Experiences
- Diploma or higher in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in retail or service-related roles
- Experience in retail operations, e-commerce/online retailing, sales, merchandising, visual display and/or customer service
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and with the ability to engage and connect with young people
- Passionate about sharing industry knowledge and developing the next generation
- Experienced retail practitioners who are new to teaching are welcome to apply
Preferred Credentials
- Teaching or training experience
- WSQ ACTA and/or ACTEP certification
