• assist the FX COO team in run and change the bank activities
• partner with business heads, COOs, and logistics and control functions to:
• ensure the FX business across Trading and Distribution runs smoothly in the time zone, and collaborate on wider global day-to-day issue handling
• execute and organize key business initiatives, particularly to further digitize the FX business
• act as sparring partner (who challenges, thinks strategically, and has commercial acumen) to help enable financial outcomes
• implement, fine tune and execute the front office control framework
• partner with team members and other COO teams, both locally and globally, to manage implementation of key projects and initiatives including business driven changes, regulatory, audit and risk remediation activities
• identify, evaluate and mitigate risks, adhering to regulatory and operational risk standards
• coordinate and oversee supporting F2B functions day-to-day and via business related governance forums, managing relationships with Technology, Operations / Middle Office, Compliance, Risk, Finance & Controlling, and others
• monitoring and analysis of financial performance
The team :
You will be working in the Global FX COO team and will report to the Global FX COO. The FX COO team is a global team with business managers based in Singapore, Zurich, London, and New York. We operate globally aligned to the follow-the-sun operating model of the FX & STIR business, within Derivatives & Solutions in Global Markets, which trades a wide range of FX and STIR products across G11, Emerging Markets and Precious Metals, also including electronic FX desks. In addition to focusing on the FX Trading business, our team also supports the wider Sales Distribution teams marketing FX products including the Unified Global Markets sales teams operating in collaboration with Global Wealth Management. Our team focuses on ensuring that the business operates effectively and efficiently to manage risks and is enabled to maximize profits while being compliant with regulations, policies and procedures.
Your skills and experience :
• 3 to 4 years background or direct experience in the FX markets
• knowledge of FX and STIR products, front to back processes, and dependencies in a large trading business including electronic trading
• ability to communicate and work with stakeholders and team members across all areas of the bank and of various levels of seniority
• ability to build a network of contacts across the business, logistics and control functions
• ability to understand issues and processes quickly and determine priorities and solutions based on business need and benefit and further communicate the same issues and solutions across the business
• excellent analytical and presentation skills; proficiency in excel, power point
• comfortable working independently, as well as in a collaborative environment
• focus, drive and commitment, and track record in getting jobs done on time and to a high standard (a commercial ‘can-do’ approach)
• understanding of emerging AI technologies and their application to operational efficiency, controls, risk management, and business process optimization
• able to remain calm under pressure and cope with difficult and changing scenarios i.e. be flexible
• proficient in both spoken and written English; any other language skills is an advantage
• you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
