Job Summary
Support and lead financial operations for construction projects, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and effective cost control to drive informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports including monthly/quarterly variance analysis, cash flow projections, and annual budgets
- Provide financial information and analysis to support organizational decision-making
- Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with group accounting policies
- Manage month-end and year-end closings ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls
- Monitor and manage financial aspects of construction projects including job costing, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress reporting
- Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets and cost control measures to keep projects within financial guidelines
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations including preparation and submission of GST and statutory filings
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team by providing training, guidance, and performance support
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance finance operation efficiency
- Prepare and analyze management reports for the group and its entities
- Manage daily banking operations to ensure smooth financial transactions
- Liaise with bankers on financing, treasury, and risk management matters
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management
- Collaborate with departments to gather and analyze data for project costs, revenue, and balance sheet accounts
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, vendor reconciliations, and payments
- Provide financial and operational support to the finance team and subsidiaries
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders as required
- Execute special projects and management requests as assigned
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
- Experience handling full set of accounts
- Experience in construction/real estate industry (at least 3 years)
- Familiarity with Accpac Accounting software
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to multitask
- Meticulous with numbers, independent, organized, team player with initiative and resourcefulness
- Positive working attitude and ability to collaborate effectively in a team
