About this job

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate scalable, resilient, secure, and developer-friendly platforms across cloud-native, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises environments. This role is responsible for delivering and managing enterprise platform capabilities that enable application teams to rapidly develop, deploy, and operate services through standardized, self-service, and automated platform offerings.

The successful candidate will play a key role in platform architecture, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes ecosystem management, developer platform enablement, platform modernization, and operational excellence initiatives. Working closely with development, infrastructure, security, and architecture teams, the Platform Engineer will provide reliable, secure, and reusable platform services that accelerate software delivery while ensuring governance, compliance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, Build and Operate Scalable Platforms - Design, implement, and manage scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud-native, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises platform solutions that support enterprise applications and digital services. Develop platform capabilities that provide standardized deployment, operational, security, and governance services for application teams.

  • Develop Internal Developer Platforms and Self-Service Capabilities - Build and enhance platform services that enable self-service provisioning, deployment automation, environment management, and operational capabilities for development teams. Establish platform standards, reusable templates, golden paths, and developer enablement practices to improve productivity and consistency.

  • Maintain Platform Architecture Standards and Best Practices - Adhere to established architectural guidelines, design principles, and technology standards for cloud platforms, microservices, container orchestration, messaging systems, databases, and integration services. Contribute to continuous improvements that enhance platform stability, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Implement and Operate Kubernetes Platforms - Deploy, administer, and continuously improve Kubernetes-based platforms across cloud and on-premises enterprise data centres. Manage Helm-based application deployments, platform upgrades, capacity planning, infrastructure automation, and troubleshooting to ensure highly available and resilient services.

  • Implement Kubernetes Security, Governance and Compliance Controls -Design and implement platform security controls using tools such as Kyverno, container image scanning, admission controllers, policy enforcement frameworks, secrets management solutions, and workload isolation mechanisms. Enforce RBAC, network segmentation, security baselines, compliance standards, and governance requirements across platform environments.

  • Manage Event-Driven and Messaging Platforms - Deploy, operate, and optimize enterprise messaging and streaming platforms including Apache Kafka (KRaft) and RabbitMQ. Support event-driven architectures, platform scalability, performance optimization, cluster management, and operational resilience while enabling reliable communication between distributed systems.

  • Enable Continuous Delivery and Platform Automation – Design, implement, and support automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitLab, and related DevOps tools. Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient software delivery through automation, deployment validation, release orchestration, and adherence to DevSecOps and governance requirements.

  • Implement Identity, Access Management and Platform Security Services - Configure, deploy, and support enterprise authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth 2.0, JWT, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Identity & Access Management (IAM) platforms including Keycloak, Oracle IDMS (Oracle Access Manager), and Kerberos-based Windows Native Authentication (WNA). Integrate Active Directory (AD/LDAP) services and administer user federation, RBAC, access policies, and security controls to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

  • Manage Infrastructure as Code and Platform Automation - Implement, manage, and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, and similar technologies. Ensure consistency, repeatability, scalability, and operational excellence across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Administer Enterprise Data and Platform Services - Deploy, manage, and optimize PostgreSQL (Patroni clustering), MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB environments. Support database availability, performance tuning, backup and recovery processes, replication, disaster recovery, and operational monitoring to ensure reliable and resilient database services.

  • Improve Platform Reliability, Observability and Operations - Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions across infrastructure and application platforms using Grafana, Prometheus, Manage Engine etc. Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, resolve incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.

  • Drive Platform Engineering Excellence and Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes through automation and scripting using shell scripts, ansible etc. Contribute to operational excellence initiatives, platform modernization efforts, and continuous improvement of deployment, monitoring, security, and infrastructure management practices.
