COOK

We are looking for a Cook to join our canteen kitchen team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes for daily canteen operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to the daily menu.
• Prepare ingredients such as meat, vegetables, spices, sauces and other food items.
• Cook food in suitable quantities for daily canteen operations.
• Ensure food is prepared on time and meets the required taste and quality standards.
• Maintain proper portion control and minimise food wastage.
• Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use.
• Follow proper food handling, storage and hygiene practices.
• Keep the kitchen and cooking areas clean and organised.
• Clean and maintain cooking equipment and utensils.
• Assist with receiving, checking and storing food supplies.
• Follow workplace safety and food hygiene requirements.
• Assist other kitchen staff when required.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant cooking experience preferred.
• Experience in Indian or Chinese cuisine will be an advantage.
• Experience in a canteen, food court, catering kitchen or high-volume kitchen is preferred.
• Able to prepare food in large quantities.
• Good knowledge of basic cooking methods and food hygiene.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Responsible, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
