Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Lead Librarian tohelp us shape the next chapter of school libraries across Singapore. At Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd, we believe strong professional leadership is essential to creating welcoming, well-managed libraries that inspire learning and a lifelong love of reading. As a Lead Librarian, you can look forward to the opportunity to shape library service standards and practices across a cluster of schools, strengthen school libraries, and create engaging reading experiences for students. You will guide and develop a team of Librarians, coordinate services across a cluster of schools and drive consistent standards, responsive support and continuous improvement.

You will cover the following :

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of library services across an assigned cluster of schools, serving as the main liaison for school requirements, operational issues and follow-up actions.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, work allocation, coaching and professional guidance to Librarians supporting the assigned cluster.
  • Review staff progress and deliverables, provide constructive feedback, and identify capability, performance or service gaps requiring training or management intervention.
  • Coordinate cluster activities, deliverables and resources; maintain operational trackers and provide timely progress updates and escalations.
  • Monitor service performance, operational issues and compliance with approved procedures and service standards.
  • Manage escalated Level 2 helpdesk enquiries, incidents and service issues, coordinating technical and stakeholder support where required.
  • Conduct collection analysis and prepare reports on collection performance, gaps, usage patterns and emerging trends.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of school library collections.
  • Identify staff training needs and develop or update courseware, presentation materials, guides, exercises and job aids.
  • Coordinate library programmes and thematic display schedules across the assigned cluster.
  • Support library-related projects and service improvement initiatives and undertake other duties as assigned in support of project objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Library and Information Science, Information Management or a related discipline. Candidates with another relevant degree and a recognised library qualification may also be considered.
  • Relevant library experience, preferably with 3 years' experience in a school, public or educational library environment.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior library staff and coordinating services across multiple sites or stakeholder groups would be an advantage.
  • Experience in collection analysis, quality assurance, and preparing collection reports, operational records and recommendations would be an advantage.
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials, courseware, reading programmes or thematic book displays is preferred.
  • Service-oriented, responsible and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in integrated library systems, Microsoft Office, and relevant reporting and collaboration tools.
