Job Summary

The Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in supporting the Finance & Administration Director in driving the Group's financial planning, business performance management, and strategic decision-making processes.

The incumbent will lead management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business partnering activities across the Group. This role serves as a key bridge between Finance and business operations, providing management with meaningful financial insights, performance analysis, and recommendations to support growth and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for the Group.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, scenario analysis, and sensitivity assessments to support strategic initiatives.
  • Analyse business and financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor revenue, profitability, cash flow, and cost drivers, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.

Management Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for senior management.
  • Develop and maintain management dashboards and KPIs to support business performance monitoring.
  • Provide insightful variance analysis and recommendations to improve financial and operational performance.
  • Translate financial data into meaningful business insights to support decision-making.

Business Partnering

  • Partner closely with operational and functional leaders to support business objectives and drive accountability.
  • Provide financial guidance on commercial decisions, capital investments, project evaluations, and resource allocation.
  • Support business units in achieving budget targets and improving profitability.
  • Challenge assumptions and promote financially sound decision-making across the organisation.

Strategic Finance Support

  • Support the Finance & Administration Director in strategic planning and corporate initiatives.
  • Conduct market, industry, and financial analysis to support business growth opportunities.
  • Participate in mergers, acquisitions, investments, or strategic projects where required.
  • Prepare presentation materials and financial analyses for management and Board discussions.

Systems, Automation & Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, controls, and systems.
  • Champion the effective use of Workday Financial Management and reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, data analytics, and dashboard enhancements.
  • Support finance digitalisation and transformation initiatives across the Group.

Governance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit processes as required.
  • Maintain high standards of financial integrity, accuracy, and governance.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is mandatory.
  • Additional professional qualifications such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant finance experience, with significant exposure to:
    - Management Reporting
    - Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
    - Budgeting and Forecasting
    - Financial Modelling
    - Business Partnering
    - Performance Analytics
  • Experience in a group finance, multinational, listed company, manufacturing, engineering, marine, construction, or project-based environment will be advantageous.
  • Experience leading finance transformation or ERP implementation projects will be highly regarded.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial analysis, planning, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience with Workday ERP or SAP is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics and reporting platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial controls, and corporate finance principles.
