Job Description
• Manage and oversee the company’s procurement activities for construction, M&E, materials, equipment, and services.
• Source and evaluate reliable suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, pricing, lead time, and service.
• Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and recommend suitable suppliers.
• Prepare and manage Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring purchases are made in accordance with approved budgets and company procedures.
• Monitor material and equipment deliveries to ensure timely availability for ongoing projects.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Accounts, and site teams to understand procurement requirements.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor market prices and identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain an updated supplier database.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Follow up on outstanding orders, deliveries, invoices, and payment matters with relevant departments.
• Maintain proper procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
• Support project teams in resolving procurement and material-related issues.
• Manage and guide the procurement team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Requirements
• Diploma/Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in the construction or M&E industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, M&E equipment, tools, and subcontractor procurement.
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, price negotiation, and contract/commercial management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply-chain practices.
• Able to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP/procurement software is an advantage.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate procurement documentation.
• Experience managing a procurement team will be an added advantage.
• Candidates with experience in Singapore construction/M&E projects will be preferred.
