About this job
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Cook to join our food court/canteen kitchen team. The Cook will be responsible for daily food preparation and cooking while ensuring good food quality, hygiene and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and company standards.
- Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, sauces and spices.
- Ensure food is fresh, properly cooked and of consistent quality.
- Assist with daily food preparation and meal service.
- Maintain proper portion control and minimise food wastage.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment and work areas.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Assist with stock checking and inform the supervisor when supplies are low.
- Work together with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with cleaning and other kitchen duties when required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook in a food court, canteen, restaurant or catering kitchen is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Responsible, hardworking and punctual.
- Willing to learn and follow instructions.
- Experience in Indian, Chinese or local cuisine will be an advantage.
Working Hours
6 days per week
Working hours and rest days will be arranged according to operational requirements
