RESPONSIBILITIES
The Payroll & Benefits Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, administration of employee benefits, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role also serves as a key liaison between employees, Human Capital Business Partners (HCBPs), vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver an excellent employee experience while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely disbursement through close coordination with HCBPs and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including payroll-related tax filings, government surveys, CPF contributions, and tax clearance processes for foreign employees.
- Partner with payroll vendors to implement regulatory updates and system enhancements, ensuring ongoing compliance with local employment and tax legislation.
- Collaborate closely with Finance and business stakeholders to reconcile payroll transactions, analyze payroll costs, and ensure accurate allocation across business units and cost centres.
- Administer employee benefits programmes, including insurance, leave, medical, and wellness benefits, ensuring smooth operations and positive employee experience.
- Analyze payroll and benefits data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to enhance programmes, policies, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead and support payroll and benefits process improvement initiatives, including automation and system enhancement projects.
- Prepare and maintain payroll, benefits, and headcount reports to support business, management, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll and benefits-related queries from employees, managers, vendors, and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in payroll and benefits administration preferred.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems, payroll practices, local employment legislation, and statutory requirements, including CPF and IRAS regulations.
- Familiarity with HR policies, processes, and employee lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric and service-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools, with experience in HRIS and payroll systems being an advantage.
