Occupational Therapist
About this job
We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health Services team. You will play an integral part in supervising and coordinating therapy support services, mentoring therapist assistants and ensuring the effective delivery of rehabilitation programs. You will also contribute to strategic planning and implementation of community-based health education initiatives focused on physical well-being and cancer prevention.
Key Responsibility Areas
Rehabilitation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their physical, communication and cognitive needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans to address pain management, functional and cognitive limitations and help clients regain independence, enhancing their quality of life.
- Assessing the home and work environment, suggest modification of necessary equipment and referral of resources wherever needed.
- Monitor and document clients’ progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy.
Functional Well-being Advocacy:
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive educational resources on physical, cognitive well-being and lifestyle management.
- Deliver workshops, public talks, and community outreach events promoting cancer prevention and health literacy.
- Monitor program effectiveness and suggest improvements to maximize outreach impact.
Referral & External Stakeholder Liaison:
- Act as a key liaison with external healthcare providers and community organizations to ensure timely and appropriate referrals.
- Collaborate with allied health team to customize care pathways for diverse client needs.
- Represent the rehabilitation team in multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Recognised Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Degree in Occupational Therapy with 2 years of experience
- Conditional or Full Registration granted by Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
