Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Commercial Executive to support the company's business development and commercial activities within the marine industry.

The role will involve managing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, preparing commercial proposals, coordinating quotations, and supporting the sales process for marine products and services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the marine, shipping, offshore, or shipyard industry, with the ability to engage shipowners, ship managers, technical teams, procurement departments, and other maritime stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers, shipyards, marine contractors, and offshore companies.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop leads within the marine and maritime sectors.
• Manage existing customer accounts and identify opportunities for repeat business and upselling.
• Prepare and coordinate quotations, tenders, proposals, and commercial submissions.
• Understand customer requirements and work with technical and operational teams to propose suitable products and services.
• Follow up on quotations and negotiate commercial terms to support successful order conversion.
• Monitor the sales pipeline and provide regular updates on business opportunities and potential revenue.
• Support the development and implementation of commercial and sales strategies.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, customer requirements, and competitor activities.
• Attend customer meetings, shipyard visits, industry events, and networking activities.
• Coordinate closely with procurement, operations, technical, finance, and service teams to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
• Review contracts, purchase orders, and commercial agreements to ensure alignment with company policies.
• Monitor sales performance, margins, and profitability of commercial opportunities.
• Handle customer enquiries and ensure timely responses to commercial and product-related requests.
• Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, opportunities, quotations, and sales activities.
• Contribute to achieving the company's revenue and business development targets.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant commercial, sales, business development, or customer-facing experience.
• Experience within the marine, shipping, offshore, shipyard, marine equipment, or engineering industry is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of marine products, services, equipment, or vessel operations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with an ability to understand pricing, margins, and profitability.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable engaging customers independently.
• Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, shipyard visits, and business development activities.
