Senior Data Project Manager (Data, Analytics & Cloud)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Project Manager to lead complex data, analytics, cloud and digital transformation programmes. The successful candidate will manage multiple workstreams, cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, budget, timeline, quality and risk parameters.

The role requires strong programme management experience together with technical understanding of cloud data platforms, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data governance and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, mobilisation and delivery of complex data and technology programmes.
• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, KPIs, dependencies, resources and delivery plans.
• Manage multiple technical and business workstreams across data engineering, architecture, analytics, cloud, security and governance teams.
• Engage senior stakeholders, business sponsors, technology teams and external vendors.
• Lead programme governance meetings, steering committees and executive reporting.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, resources and vendor relationships.
• Oversee delivery of data platforms, data pipelines, data warehouses, migrations and analytics solutions.
• Ensure appropriate data quality, security, privacy, metadata, lineage and governance controls.
• Coordinate testing, data validation, reconciliation, UAT, deployment and production readiness.
• Manage change requests and assess their impact on scope, cost, resources, quality and timelines.
• Oversee release, migration, cutover and transition-to-support activities.
• Prepare programme reports, dashboards, RAID logs, decision logs and governance documentation.
• Conduct post-project reviews and track benefits realisation against agreed business outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in project/programme management.
• Proven experience delivering complex data, analytics, cloud, migration, integration, data-platform or digital-transformation programmes.
• Experience managing multiple cross-functional workstreams and technical dependencies.
• Strong understanding of cloud data architectures, preferably GCP and/or AWS.
• Working knowledge of PySpark and Scala data pipelines, ETL/ELT, APIs, data integration, data warehousing and data lakes/lakehouses.
• Knowledge of data modelling, scheduling/orchestration and data-pipeline implementation.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, data catalogues, data lineage and data quality.
• Understanding of data validation, reconciliation, transformation, testing, UAT and production support.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, vendors, contractors and project capacity.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into delivery plans, technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall or hybrid project methodologies.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project or Smartsheet.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Scrum Master or equivalent certification.
• AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake or data-governance certification.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, government or telecommunications.
