Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to drive the growth of marine propulsion systems and related solutions across the assigned territory.
The successful candidate will develop relationships with shipyards, boatbuilders, naval architects, vessel owners, operators and distributors. This is a technical sales role requiring strong maritime knowledge and the ability to develop suitable propulsion solutions for different vessel applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and market-growth targets.
- Identify new projects and business opportunities across commercial, government and recreational marine markets.
- Promote waterjets, control systems and related marine propulsion solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with shipyards, boatbuilders, naval architects, consultants, owners and operators.
- Manage the sales process from initial enquiry and technical discussion through quotation, negotiation and contract award.
- Work with engineering teams to recommend suitable waterjet sizes, engines, driveline configurations and control systems.
- Review vessel specifications, operating profiles and performance requirements.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals that meet customer requirements.
- Support distributors and regional partners with sales development, product knowledge and customer engagement.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts and market updates.
- Monitor competitor activity, vessel-building trends and developments within the assigned markets.
- Coordinate internally with Engineering, Production, Service, Parts and Finance teams.
- Support project handover, delivery, commissioning and after-sales requirements.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences and other industry events.
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned region to meet customers and support projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Marine, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Studies or a related discipline.
- At least five years of technical sales or business-development experience within the marine industry.
- Experience selling marine propulsion systems, engines, waterjets, gearboxes, control systems or other vessel equipment would be advantageous.
- Strong network among shipyards, boatbuilders, naval architects, vessel owners or operators.
- Good understanding of vessel propulsion, engine matching and marine operational requirements.
- Proven ability to manage project-based and consultative sales cycles.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Able to understand technical specifications and communicate solutions clearly to customers.
- Experience managing distributors or agents would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.
