About this job

We are looking for an experienced Risk & Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Consultant to support regulatory, compliance and transformation initiatives within a regulated financial services environment.

The successful candidate will provide Financial Crime Compliance expertise across governance, risk management, operating model enhancement and regulatory change. The role involves working closely with Compliance, Business, Operations, Technology, Data and Legal stakeholders to identify and manage financial crime risks and implement effective and sustainable compliance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

FCC Operating Model & Transformation

  • Support governance forums, working groups and stakeholder engagements, ensuring agreed actions and deliverables are tracked to completion.

  • Identify and manage FCC-related risks, dependencies, issues and control gaps across people, processes, technology, data and third-party services.

  • Support the design and enhancement of FCC operating models, including controls, systems, reporting, governance and service delivery frameworks.

  • Contribute to transformation, integration, remediation and regulatory change programmes.

  • Develop and implement interim and long-term compliance solutions to address regulatory, operational and control requirements.

  • Escalate, monitor and track key risks and remediation activities through appropriate governance channels.

FCC Advisory & Programme Delivery

  • Maintain and enhance FCC frameworks, policies, standards and procedures.

  • Provide FCC advisory support across products, customer journeys, business processes and technology initiatives.

  • Conduct risk assessments and support the identification, escalation and remediation of financial crime risks and control weaknesses.

  • Support monitoring, assurance and thematic review activities and drive continuous improvement of FCC controls.

  • Support regulatory engagements, audits and compliance reviews.

  • Prepare risk reports, governance materials and management updates for senior stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance, AML/CFT, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), Compliance or Financial Crime Risk Management.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in AML/CFT, Sanctions, ABC and financial crime risk management.

  • Experience in compliance advisory, risk assessments, control design, governance and regulatory change.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance controls within regulated financial services.

  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across Compliance, Business, Operations, Technology, Data and Legal functions.

  • Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.

  • Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and deliver outcomes within a regulated environment.

  • Experience within banking, insurance, wealth management, fintech or other regulated financial services sectors is preferred.

  • Exposure to regional or multi-jurisdictional regulatory environments would be advantageous.

  • Experience supporting transformation, integration, remediation or large-scale regulatory change programmes is preferred.

  • Relevant professional certifications in Financial Crime Compliance, AML, Risk Management or Compliance would be advantageous.
