The Singapore Shooting Association is the national authority for shooting in Singapore. It co-ordinates, regulates, advises and administers all matters relating to the shooting sports. This includes Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and other related shooting activities. It is the sole national authority affiliated to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).

Job Summary

The Singapore Shooting Association (“SSA”) seeks a Rifle Coach for the National Youth Team (“NYT”) to elevate athlete performance and competitive success in regional and international shooting events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of individual training programs to enhance athlete performance and prepare them for regional and international competitions such as the Asian Youth Games, Youth Olympic Games, Southeast Asia Games, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games
  • Introduce and integrate air gun athletes into small-bore shooting events with consistent and effective coaching methods
  • Organize and coordinate training sessions to ensure each athlete maximizes their potential through tailored coaching and skill development
  • Monitor athlete progress and submit regular, detailed performance reports to the Training & Competition Manager
  • Deliver coaching lessons and undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Singapore Shooting Association
  • Apply strong organizational and administrative skills to manage training schedules and athlete development pathways effectively
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support athlete talent development, skill acquisition, and knowledge growth within the national shooting program

Required competencies and certifications

  • Full NROC Certification
  • International Shooting Sport Federation (“ISSF”) Coaching License OR demonstrated technical knowledge in ISSF disciplines through competitive shooting experience as a national athlete
  • Minimum of two (2) years prior coaching experience at any level

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Understanding of athlete development pathways, particularly in talent identification and skill progression within competitive shooting
