Job Title: Nasi Lemak Chef

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nasi lemak and related local dishes for daily operations.

• Prepare coconut rice and ensure consistent taste, texture and quality.

• Prepare sambal and other sauces, marinades and condiments from scratch.

• Prepare and cook accompanying dishes such as fried chicken, fish, eggs, ikan bilis, peanuts and other menu items.

• Handle ingredient preparation, cutting, marinating, frying and batch cooking.

• Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, portioning and presentation.

• Plan daily food preparation according to expected sales volume.

• Monitor ingredient usage and assist with stock control and ordering.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, cooking equipment and work areas.

• Ensure proper food storage and comply with food safety and hygiene requirements.

• Minimise food wastage and maintain proper portion control.

• Assist with menu preparation and improvement of existing dishes when required.

• Perform opening and closing kitchen duties.

• Carry out other kitchen-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in preparing nasi lemak, local cuisine or similar high-volume food operations.

• Good knowledge of local cooking techniques and ingredient preparation.

• Able to independently handle food preparation and cooking during busy periods.

• Able to maintain consistent food quality and portioning.

• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays according to the operational roster.
