JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting TDConnex’s finance, cash management, treasury and compliance activities in Singapore and across the Group. The role oversees the outsourced bookkeeper to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, manages cash flow reporting and banking matters, and supports the Group’s treasury initiatives.

The role also coordinates with external auditors, tax/GST agents, corporate secretarial service providers and internal stakeholders on statutory and compliance requirements. As a hands-on position, the Senior Accountant is expected to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and support finance initiatives, process improvements and other Group-level projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Manage the outsourced bookkeeper as the primary point of contact for day-to-day accounting and reporting matters.
  • Review accounting records, reconciliations, schedules and financial reports prepared by the outsourced bookkeeper for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure month-end closing and periodic financial reporting are completed accurately within agreed reporting timelines.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and outstanding items in co-ordination with the outsourced bookkeeper and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting schedules, supporting documentation and records for audit and management purposes.
  • Prepare financial information, schedules and analyses to support management reporting and decision-making.

2. Banking Management

  • Manage relationships and operational matters with banks and relationship managers on behalf of the Finance function.
  • Coordinate banking initiatives, including fixed deposit placements, account administration, bank mandates and other banking requirements.
  • Evaluate available fixed deposit options and other approved short-term placements to support effective utilisation of surplus cash.
  • Monitor deposit maturity dates and coordinate renewals, withdrawals or placements based on the Group's cash requirements.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date banking documentation and authorised signatory records.

3. Cash Management & Cash Flow Reporting

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for the Singapore Business Unit based on expected receipts, payments and funding requirements.
  • Coordinate cash flow submissions from the respective Business Units in accordance with the Group's reporting timetable.
  • Consolidate Business Unit cash flow forecasts into the Group cash flow report to provide visibility of overall liquidity and funding requirements.
  • Review cash positions and forecast movements to identify potential cash surpluses or funding requirements.
  • Monitor actual cash movements against forecasts and investigate significant variances where required.
  • Provide timely cash flow information to management to support funding and treasury decisions.

4. Treasury Management & Initiatives

  • Support treasury initiatives including interest rate swaps, foreign exchange hedging and other financial risk management activities, where applicable.
  • Implement treasury processes and controls in accordance with the Group Treasury Policy.
  • Monitor compliance with approved treasury policies, limits and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for treasury transactions and related approvals.
  • Coordinate with banks and internal stakeholders on treasury transactions, documentation and new initiatives.
  • Assist management in evaluating treasury and banking solutions that improve liquidity management and manage financial risks.

5. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate annual statutory audits and provide auditors with required schedules, supporting documents and explanations within agreed timelines.
  • Liaise with GST and tax agents on GST submissions and other applicable tax compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with the corporate secretary on routine corporate secretarial filings, resolutions and statutory requirements.
  • Track key statutory, tax and compliance deadlines to ensure timely completion and submission.
  • Review information and supporting schedules provided to external professional advisers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organised records of statutory filings, audit documents and compliance-related correspondence.

6. Projects, Governance & Process Improvement

  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards, regulatory requirements and Group finance initiatives.
  • Participate in finance, treasury, governance and other ad hoc projects assigned by management.
  • Collaborate with the Governance Head and relevant stakeholders to review existing finance processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and document finance workflows, procedures and internal controls where required.
  • Implement approved process improvements to strengthen efficiency, reporting accuracy and internal controls.
  • Support finance system, reporting and workflow enhancements as business requirements evolve.
  • Support implementation of IFRS 18 standard requirement

7. Other Duties

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time, where reasonably related and commensurate with the scope and seniority of the role.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA or equivalent would bean advantage.
  • Approximately 5–8 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably including experience in a Senior Accountant or similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and month-end closing processes.
  • Experience reviewing or overseeing work performed by outsourced accounting/service providers would be advantageous.
  • Practical experience in cash flow forecasting, cash management and banking matters.
  • Exposure to treasury activities such as fixed deposits, foreign exchange management, hedging or interest rate instruments would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Singapore statutory requirements, including audit, GST and corporate compliance processes.
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems.
  • Experience working in a regional or Group finance environment would be an advantage.
