Contract, 1 year
Monthly Salary: $4,488 – $5,292
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 8.30 am to 6.00 pm
- Fridays: 8.30 am to 5.30 pm
- Saturdays: Day Off
- Lunch: 1 hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. Within SPF, the Police Psychological Services Department (PPSD) plays an important role in supporting the organisational and operational needs of SPF.
As a Contract Psychologist in the Crime Psychology Division in PPSD, you will support psychological research and assessment work focused on scam victims and the Police-Initiated Restriction Order (PIRO) programme. You will undertake specialised projects that enhance SPF's evidence-based approaches to crime prevention and victim support, particularly in addressing the increasing challenges posed by scam syndicates targeting vulnerable populations.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
As a Contract Psychologist, your key roles and responsibilities include:
* Supporting the conceptualisation and review of scam assessment programmes and determining programme scope and parameters
* Developing entry/exit criteria for scam support programmes and conceptualising outcome evaluations
* Reviewing and developing evaluation data collection tools including semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, and databases
* Conducting data transcription, cleaning, and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data
* Writing technical reports for internal circulation to support victim care efforts
* Preparing academic reports for potential journal publication
* Creating presentation materials for training, seminars, and conferences
* Supporting the implementation of trauma-informed practices in policing, particularly in victimology
* Conducting training and assessment work for various courses
* Any other duties as assigned by the unit
Requirements:
Degree in Psychology or a relevant discipline.
Experience in psychology, behavioural sciences, research or related fields would be advantageous.
Experience in research settings and project management.
Strong understanding of statistics and proficiency in relevant statistical software.
Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good analytical and report-writing abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work with sensitive populations and handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches would be advantageous.
Experience in applied forensic work, victim support or related areas would be advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
