Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Prof Thorsten Wohland under a project on bacterial lipd transport and outer membrane dynamics.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Setting up single molecule sensitive Förster Resonance Energy Transfer measurmens on bacteria, preparing smaples, and performing the measurements. The candidate will collaborate with multiple research groups and will coordinate the interaction with these groups.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or a related field.

Skills:

• Single Molecule Spectroscopy and Microscopy setup and measurement. Single molecule data evaluation.
• Wetlab experience.

Experience:

• In fluorescence microscopy and microscope construction and alignment and its application to biological problems with an emphasis on statistical data evaluation.
