Our Indirect Tax team helps businesses navigate complex indirect tax obligations, manage GST risks and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and compliance. We advise a diverse range of local and multinational clients across industries on compliance, ASK/ACAP, advisory, e-invoicing and transaction-related matters.
Our Indirect Tax team forms part of Grant Thornton Singapore's wider Tax practice, which also includes Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Employer Solutions & Private Clients. Working collaboratively across these specialities, our team provides integrated tax solutions to clients while offering opportunities for professional growth and cross-functional exposure.
We are seeking an experienced GST professional to join our Indirect Tax team at the Assistant Manager or Manager level. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of client engagements, work closely with clients and senior stakeholders, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of both our clients and our practice.
Responsibilities
Goods & Services Tax (GST) Assistant Manager responsibilities include:
- Managing GST compliance engagements
- Conducting GST health-checks, ASK annual reviews, and ACAP reviews
- Supporting clients prepare for and implementing InvoiceNow as well as other technology-related process-improvement projects
- Undertaking vendor and purchaser due diligence as part of a multi-disciplined team
- Managing and supporting advisory and consulting assignments
- Supporting clients with IRAS enquiries and audits
- Project managing supply chain assignments across taxes and jurisdictions, leveraging Grant Thornton's global network
- Coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members
Goods & Services Tax (GST) Manager responsibilities also include:
- Managing and building client relationships
- Assisting with GST marketing and business development initiatives
- Leading GST advisory and consulting assignments
- Supporting practice growth initiatives and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services
Qualifications and requirements
- A recognised degree, diploma, or relevant professional qualification in Accounting, or a related field
- Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATP) accreditation from the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) would be highly advantageous
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant GST working experience for the Assistant Manager role and 5 years for the Manager role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex information effectively
- Ability to manage multiple GST engagements concurrently, while ensuring timely delivery and high-quality client service
- Experience working with GST reporting tools, data analytics solutions, e-invoicing platforms or other technology-enabled tax compliance and advisory solutions would be advantageous
- Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and as a team player
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
