Purchasing Executive

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Executive to support procurement, inventory management and supply chain operations within our Singapore team.
This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with data, systems and people to ensure smooth supply chain operations. In addition to managing purchasing activities and inventory coordination, the successful candidate will contribute to process improvements, operational reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
· Execute purchase orders for chemicals and related materials from intercompany and external suppliers.
· Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries and supply continuity.
· Liaise with suppliers on order status, lead times, shipment schedules and discrepancies.
· Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within SAP.
· Manage documentation related to purchases, shipments, inventory transactions and supplier non-conformance cases.
· Review and verify freight quotations in coordination with freight forwarders to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
· Support supplier performance monitoring through tracking of delivery reliability and service levels.
· Assist in identifying opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and cost effectiveness.
· Support audit and compliance requirements through proper maintenance of procurement records.
Inventory & Supply Chain Operations
· Monitor inventory levels and support timely stock replenishment to meet business requirements.
· Coordinate closely with third-party logistics providers on import activities, warehousing operations and storage requirements.
· Ensure accurate inventory transactions and master data maintenance within SAP.
· Review stock movements, ageing and inventory health to support efficient inventory management.
· Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Support initiatives to optimise inventory holding, storage utilisation and operational efficiency.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of supply chain activities.
Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and maintain procurement, inventory and operational KPI reports.
- Analyse purchasing trends, inventory movements and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy and service levels.
- Assist in maintaining data integrity within SAP and other business systems.
- Participate in supply chain projects, system enhancements and automation initiatives where applicable.
- Recommend practical improvements to strengthen purchasing and inventory management processes.
Administrative & Team Support
- Support procurement of selected non-trade goods and services for office operations.
- Assist with coordination of departmental activities, meetings and vendor-related matters when required.
- Provide administrative support to the Supply Chain team as needed.
- Perform ad-hoc duties and special projects assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications& Experience
- Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Minimum 2–5years of experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics or supply chain operations.
- Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, chemicals or B2B environment will be advantageous.
- Hands-on experience using SAP MM.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
