Your Role
As an Assistant Manager in Sustainability, you will work closely with our founder, Lip Teng, who brings extensive experience in sustainability, waste management, environmental health & safety, and technology. You will support him in sustainability consultancy projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse network of external suppliers, partners, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Projects: Implement sustainability programs and initiatives for clients, including consultancy projects, education programs, and waste audits.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct market landscape research, analyze government regulations and sustainability data (GHG accounting, waste data, recycling rates), and generate insights for client proposals.
- Presentation & Insights: Create compelling presentation slides, insights, and dashboards, or collaborate with external partners to develop these for our clients.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clients, offering professional advice and recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce carbon footprints.
- R&D Participation: Engage in research and development of new waste technologies, manage projects, and pilot launches with clients and research institutes.
- Event Coordination: Organize and coordinate client activities such as workshops, seminars, and trade shows, to drive business development.
- Global Coordination: Work with local and overseas suppliers, including potential business travel, to ensure product quality and specifications.
- Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks related to the above responsibilities, including meeting coordination, PO and invoicing, and inventory management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or Business Management.
- 0-2 years of experience in sustainability management or facilities management, with a good understanding of international sustainability standards, trends, and regulations.
- Strong communication skills; confident in working with and coordinating across various stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Excellent multitasking and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in developing data-driven insights and presentations.
- Passionate about sustainability with a deep commitment to driving positive environmental impact.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, or equivalent tools.
