Treaty Technical Accounting Executive

The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a detail-oriented professional to join a reinsurance technical accounting team, supporting the financial administration and reconciliation of treaty business.

The position will provide exposure to treaty accounts, loss provisions, reporting and reconciliation work. It is suitable for candidates who enjoy working with numbers and data and are interested in developing specialist knowledge within the insurance and reinsurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the technical accounting function, you will:

• Review and process treaty statements and accounting information received from relevant business partners.
• Prepare technical accounts and supporting schedules when required.
• Perform checks on account information and investigate discrepancies or incomplete entries.
• Maintain accurate records of loss provisions and make necessary updates based on incoming statements.
• Track pending accounts, outstanding queries and other unresolved items through to completion.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to obtain clarification or additional information where required.
• Support month-end reporting and preparation of regular management information.
• Assist with account reconciliations and analysis of variances or unusual movements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure transactions are recorded within the required timelines.
• Participate in process improvements, ad-hoc assignments and other team initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in any field.
• Comfortable working with numbers, financial information and detailed datasets.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Able to communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational and follow-up skills.
• Previous exposure to general insurance, reinsurance, accounting or financial operations would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Candidates without prior industry experience who demonstrate strong numerical aptitude and an interest in reinsurance are encouraged to apply.
