Treaty Claims Technician

The Opportunity

We are seeking an early-career professional to join a growing reinsurance team, supporting the administration and handling of treaty claims.

This role provides hands-on exposure to the full claims lifecycle within treaty reinsurance, including loss reporting, treaty documentation, claims monitoring and interaction with brokers and cedents. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the reinsurance industry.

Prior treaty claims experience is not essential. Candidates with a strong eye for detail, good numerical ability and an interest in insurance or reinsurance are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Be Doing

Treaty Claims Administration

• Review incoming claims notifications, loss bordereaux and supporting information received from cedents and brokers.
• Capture and maintain accurate claims information within internal systems.
• Check submissions against relevant treaty information and identify missing or incomplete documentation.
• Monitor outstanding claims and maintain up-to-date records on claim movements and developments.
• Follow up with relevant parties on pending information, documentation and claim updates.

Reporting & Records Management

• Maintain accurate and well-organised electronic claims files and supporting documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of claims reports, summaries and portfolio information for internal stakeholders.
• Support data reconciliation and ensure claims records remain complete and accurate.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Work alongside claims, underwriting, finance and other internal teams to support the smooth administration of treaty business.
• Communicate with brokers and cedents regarding routine claims matters and documentation requirements.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the wider reinsurance team when required.

What We’re Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in any discipline
• Up to 2 years of experience within insurance, reinsurance, financial services, operations or another detail-oriented environment.
• Exposure to insurance or reinsurance concepts would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
• Comfortable working with data and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, analytical and comfortable working with numbers and documentation.
• Most importantly, an interest in developing specialist knowledge and building a career within treaty reinsurance and claims.
