Key competencies
- An ability to translate the interior design requirements of the project, under the control of the Principal Director, to the building structure and space available.
- Manage project teams in programming client needs, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.
- An ability to manage and negotiate with the design team, matters of critical or technical importance which may influence the creative direction.
- Ability to work through technical design issues with consultants to find cost effective solutions for our clients.
- Excellent client management skills.
- Strong leadership and excellent team management skills.
- Project Management and mentoring of staff with ability to communicate effectively.
- Assist Hachem Management team to implement and achieve strategic business goals
- Ability to analyse and critically assess problems.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Tertiary qualification of a Bachelor of Interior Design, Architecture, or similar.
- 10+ years of professional experience within the same industry.
- Experience in hotel and hospitality design is a must.
- Proficiency in Revit is essential, at least 4 years on job experience
- Skilled in CAD, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Specification software knowledge, ideally Specsources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated, enthusiastic and willingness to learn
- Imaginative and creative thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Work with the Principal to obtain a client brief in order to determine the type, style and size of the building or the space within the building that is to be designed, built and/or refurbished.
- Organization of the planning process in terms of designs, materials, building times and costs estimates.
- Experience in Project management and leadership and be proficient in dealing with outside contractors
- Communicate and provide experienced knowledge working with hotel operators
- To have capabilities in commercial projects including interior design and detailed construction documentation.
- Manage the preparation of preliminary drawings and other documentation including sketches and scale drawings.
- Manage the preparation of architectural drawings and specifications for submission to town planning authorities.
- Manage the preparation of working drawings and specifications for use by builders.
- Manage the preparation of proposals, tender documents and call tenders on behalf of clients.
- Consult and manage engineers, designers, and other experts to achieve project objectives.
- Carry out site visits and oversee construction works to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Guide and manage deliverables in all phases with the Director and Associates
- Assign and manage realistic project deadlines for the Interiors team to ensure client deadlines are met.
- Manage the budgets and timelines of projects under your responsibility.
