Our client is a highly established commodities trading enterprise specializing in the physical trade of coal, coke, iron ore, and steel. They are looking for a highly skilled Senior Trade Finance professional to manage complex financial instruments and ensure smooth international trade operations.

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of Letters of Credit (issuance, advising, confirmation, amendment, and negotiation) tailored to high-value commodities.
• Proactively negotiate LC terms and conditions with banks, suppliers, and buyers to minimize financial exposure and ensure strict compliance.
• Handle complex trade documentation specifically for bulk shipments (e.g., Charter Party Bills of Lading, independent surveyor reports) to ensure timely presentation and zero discrepancies.
• Maintain and leverage strong relationships with negotiating and issuing banks to facilitate smooth trade finance operations and resolve disputes swiftly.
• Partner closely with the trading, shipping, and operations teams to align financial documentation with physical cargo movements and contract terms.

skills and experience required

• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in Trade Finance, specifically within the commodities trading sector (coal, iron ore, or steel experience is highly preferred).
• ACCA qualification is required.
• Deep, working knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522, and international trade compliance standards.
• Proven track record of managing bulk shipment LCs and a high level of accuracy in document checking.
• Sharp negotiation abilities, strong analytical thinking, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
